Joan Wakeland-Taylor was born in Jamaica WI in 1941. She graduated from the University of Technology as a Pharmcist.Joan migrated to the United States in 1977 and continued her Career in the field of Pharmacy. 

In 1980, she entered the Corporate World.
She was an employee of the Burroughs Wellcome Company which was later acquired by Glaxo Smith Kline. During her tenure Joan represented the Company at the County of Los Angeles Medical Facilities. She covered LAC-USC Medical Center, the County's Purchasing Department, King Drew, Rancho Los Amigos and the City of Hope Medical Center. She received many awards for her achievements and was well respected by her peers and Clients. She has a track record of Success.

In 2000, Joan joined the Astra Zeneca Pharmaceutical Company. Her territory included the cities of Glendora, Pomona,
Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, Riverside, Moreno Valley and Corona. She called on Physicians, Pharmacists, Nurses, Physician Assistants and other medical personnel. In 2014, she retired from Corporate America due to Health Issues. 

Joan Wakeland-Taylor has a can-do attitude, she is a woman of connection and influence. Joan is able to accomplish projects because of her skill in building relationships and her commitment and passion. She makes consistent contributions to her community.

Joan was a member of the American Business Women Association Pomona Chapter and The Kiwanis Club of Greater Pomona until 1996 when she relocated. She served as the Ways and Means officer in ABWA. She served as a PR chair for Jamaica Project Health, an organization that provided medical equipment & supplies for the island of Jamaica. Joan served as the Director of National Association of Female Executives in Rancho Cucamonga from 2013 to 2015, In 2015, She saw the need for another Chapter in Riverside, and is presently the Director of Riverside NAFE affiliate and co-Director for Ranch Cucamonga. She is also a member of Menifee Valley Lions Club International.
